From Control to Disarm

The atomic era and the nuclear menace have characterized the twentieth century after the end of the World War II. Hence, the explosion of the first atomic bombs will change the course of the whole history and of the military apparatus. However, the history is made also by treaties: they will characterize the process which will change minds during decades.From clash to dialogue: the process of denuclearization will pass first by the limitation and, then by control. Starting from the fall of the Soviet Union, in 1991, this process had a great increasing, especially in the now former Soviet Republics – Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan – in which started the transferring process to newly-created Russian Federation of the former Soviet tactical and strategical weapons.
